This great piece uses found watch pieces and then adds an element of surprise: a tiny box that actually contains watch elements! We used both the face as well as two inner workings and it’s all mounted on an old hinge and finished with a sterling chain. Necklace measures 18 1/2 inches.
This necklace highlights two great enamel watch faces and is “topped” with the workings of an Elgin piece, complete with watch ruby jewels. Complemented with a vintage hinge and brass chain. Measures 19 inches.
We were first fascinated by the inner workings of watches when we saw them at the Alameda Antique Faire–we couldn’t believe the workmanship as well as the beauty–that no one ever sees except the watch maker! We also love the gold, silver, and rose gold tones. We mounted several onto an old hinge–and then added pearls to our chain just to have a little “casual yet dressy”!!
Our first “found object” necklace was made with a vintage drawer pull very similar to this. It’s perfect to display our heart medley! We’ve attached various silver hearts, hammered and textured, and strung it on a 24 inch stainless steel ball chain.
